What is zero waste

ZERO WASTE (n)

“The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.” - Zero Waste International Alliance

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Much of the plastic waste that is generated here in the U.S. ends up in the oceans if it is not properly recycled. There are over 45,000 pieces of plastic per every square mile of the ocean

  • If present trends continue, by 2050, there will be 12 billion metric tons of plastic in landfills. That amount is 35,000 times as heavy as the Empire State Building.
